Telstra Global has won a major contract to provide a fully managed Multi-protocol Label Switching Network (MPLS) solution to Braemar Shipping Services, a division of one of the largest marine and energy services businesses in the world.
Telstra Global will provide larger bandwidth and a more consolidated service to support the roll-out of a number of new network applications for the shipping giant. Implementation is expected to be completed in the next six months and when fully rolled out will span the entire Braemar network including Asian, European and Australian sites.
Braemar CEO James Kidwell said the ability to bring its complete network under one preferred supplier would ensure the speed and efficiency required to support its first class global communications and operations.

As a result of Friday’s earthquake and tsunami in Japan, there have been multiple cable breaks and damage to communications infrastructure in the vicinity. Telstra is pleased with its network performance throughout these events. Our network remained operational in and out of Japan, although there was some minimal infrastructure and service disruption. All services have been fully restored as of Tuesday, March 15.
