Crown Worldwide Group, a privately held company with its global
headquarters in Hong Kong has appointed Telstra International to manage its
MPLS, Global Internet and Global Data Center systems. The deal
is valued at USD8.2 million over a five-year period and will see Telstra manage
an initial 80 Global Wide Area Network (WAN) sites, including two data centre
migrations.
Leveraging Telstra’s extensive experience with cross-continent and
global managed networks, the planned infrastructure and management consolidation
of Crown’s network systems will enable it to refocus internal resources to
critical projects which have been set back due to the amount of time required
to maintain the basic administrative functions associated with managing global
connectivity for its worldwide portfolio of offices.
Crown’s Group Vice President of IT, Chris Davis-Pipe said one of
Crown’s core values is “Our Strength is Our Network” referring to the company’s
worldwide presence. By adopting a global WAN from Telstra we will bring all
those offices a significantly enhanced level of application performance and
collaboration.
“From the iPad® tool we use for home pre-move surveys, to the
unified network system that connects our businesses globally, we demand the
best tools and solutions that enable us to deliver on our commitment of 100
percent customer satisfaction,” said Mr. Davis-Pipe.
“Telstra offers the
most holistic solutions that are not only in line with our business goals, but
also enable Crown to create more efficient and innovative service delivery
methods in today’s connected world,” he added.
With 10,000 worldwide corporate clients, Crown expects to increase
organizational productivity and performance under this arrangement, while
anticipating greater control and flexibility to make changes to its network
infrastructure in response to varying market conditions.
Telstra International’s Executive Director Phil Mottram said,
“With more than 250 operations in 55 countries and in excess of 5,000
professionals, an enterprise such as Crown demands the utmost in reliability
and efficiency from their networked systems. Our ability to be a global
provider and our existing relationship with Crown in New Zealand through
Telstra Clear provided Crown the confidence to select Telstra as a provider for
this endeavour.
“We are excited to be collaborating with the Crown Worldwide
Group. A consolidated network management strategy such as this will go a long
way in increasing productivity, reducing overall management costs and bring
about greater reliability for their business,” he concluded.
The deployment is scheduled to begin in July 2011 and is expected
to take approximately six to nine months to complete.
