Telstra International today announced the appointment of Mr Richard Duggan to the Head of South Asia, effective 5 September 2011.
Mr Duggan will be based in Singapore and will report to Mr Phil Mottram, Executive Director for Telstra International. He will be responsible for leading Telstra International’s sales strategy in South Asia’s emerging markets, bolstering relationships with enterprises and building a team across the region to lead the company into its next phase of growth.
Prior to joining Telstra International, Mr Duggan held a number of senior management and sales positions, most recently as the Head of Data Center, Virtualization and Cloud Technology Practice Asia, at CISCO Systems. In this position he was responsible for the development of the professional services practice in Asia, targeting the service provider and enterprise segments. Mr Duggan has extensive experience across the sector having also worked at Cable & Wireless, Reuters, INFONET UK, and Mercury Communications.
Mr Mottram said Mr Duggan’s industry expertise and proven capability will be instrumental in driving growth of Telstra International across markets such as India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines.
“Richard brings with him external insights and outstanding experience that will be crucial to Telstra’s continued growth in key South Asia markets where Telstra has an increasing presence,” said Mr Mottram.
This news follows the recent appointment of Mr Andrew Wildblood as the Head of North Asia in July this year, demonstrating Telstra International’s commitment, continued expansion and strategic direction in Asia.
