A strategic regional financial and trading hub, Singapore empowers both multi-national corporations (MNCs) and local enterprises with easy access to the growing Asian markets. To support business operations in the region, you need to host your IT infrastructure and back up your data in a secure, reliable and connected environment. Telstra’s flagship Singapore data centre, SGCS2, provides an ideal platform to power your business growth.
When it comes to your business, there’s nothing more precious than your data, and where you host them makes all the difference. SGCS2 is a standalone facility with physical security barriers, monitored by a 24 x 7 team of security guards and CCTV. Access is restricted to only authorised personnel with biometric and card access to the premise. SGCS2 has quick fire response and detection through traditional thermal point and the VESDA system. Local police and civil defence forces are also located within just a 2km radius. The data centre is also certified to ISO 27001 Security Management and ISO 9001 Quality IT System Management standards while adhering to the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s (MAS) Technology Risk Management Guidelines.
Your time should be focused on managing your core business operations. SGCS2 provides virtual accessibility with our Remote Hands feature, allowing you to instruct on-site data centre experts to support manual activities such as managing and storing parts, installations and testings. Our 24/7 highly-skilled technicians will deliver timely support on your behalf to reduce administration costs and maintenance.
Take your business forward with a reliable and connected business partner. SGCS2’s electrical power, mechanical cooling and connectivity are all designed with redundancy in mind to provide optimal uptime to your data. The main electrical supply is delivered by the local national grid and insured by Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) while backup diesel generators ensure that the data centre can operate continuously in the event of a power failure in the national grid. The operating environment for your IT hardware is maintained by multiple Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units, in N+20% redundancy. The data centre is also well connected to major local exchanges and Points of Presences (PoPs) through multiple, redundant and diverse carrier networks.
The tier III data centre is certified Tier III by Uptime Institute. SGCS2 is also compliant to ISO 27001 Information Security Management, ISO 9001 Quality IT System Management, PCI/DSS, and MAS Technology Risk (TVRA) requirements to address any security threats. SGCS2 has also received the Green Mark Gold Plus Award from the local Building and Construction Authority (BCA) for its eco-friendly and energy efficient initiatives.
Telstra’s PEN platform leverages the latest in Software Defined Networking (SDN) technology to deliver scalable bandwidth between SGCS2 and other PEN connected data centres. Network functions such as routers and firewalls can also be provisioned virtually through PEN almost instantly. SGCS2 is also connected to major domestic exchanges and Points of Presences (PoPs) to provide a carrier neutral environment.
With gross data centre space of 45,000 ft2 and capacity of 1,500 IT racks, SGCS2 caters for customers who only need a single rack to the construction of a customised private cage. Telstra’s Cloud Services also provides a comprehensive range of products from Private Cloud Converged Infrastructure that you can host in SGCS2 or a list of Public Clouds that you can connect to form your Hybrid Cloud.
Apart from being located close to local police and civil defence forces, SGCS2 is also near the local public transport train station and is only 12km away from the local international airport by the nearby expressway.
